From the river a story rose
A young miller who chose to make his home

High on the River, the old mill stands
The new Miller, An Independent man
But his ways they were strange
His humour well it easily enraged,
And at night, he would Howl,
like a wild wolf, to the moon,

The Howling Miller, the fool

With negotiations drawn

With an overwhelming force,
Bound by a stronger hand
